Finally

We encountered a few problems while trying to install the electrical wiring for the new kiln. Alas! It's all done! I can't tell you how ecstatic I am. To top it all off, the first firing turned out better than I had hoped for. Here are some pictures of the new wares.

Colors

Now that electrical wiring for the new kiln is in the works, I'm eager to experiment with colors again.

Cherry Blossoms Series

I've been a devoted flickr user for a few years now. It's a great way to share random pictures of everyday life with like minded folks. Now that it is Spring, there have been many recent posts of amazing cherry blossoms photos from all over the world. My favorites are from magstultz and sarahdippity. Speaking of Maggie, you have to check out her beautiful and whimsical work here. I especially adore her lamp.

Below are a few pieces I made a couple of days ago. They're part of the "cherry blossoms series", inspired by photos from my flickr friends.

Back At It Again

After much distractions in recent weeks, I'm back on the potter's wheel again and couldn't be happier. I was afraid my hands would forget how to throw pots but thank god they remembered! Here are pictures of a few vessels in the works.

Chartreuse

Inspired by Spring and the color of Lisa's eggs (chartreuse). I took these photos from around the house:

2. This is one of my most favorite books on botanical illustrations.


3. Lisa's organic eggs are slowly replacing my white store bought ones.

Hopelessly Taken

I am so taken by our new hen that I haven't been spending any time in the studio. Here's a video clip of her laying an egg this morning. Happy Friday everybody!
